McPherson Fit

Here is where fitness, fashion, food, and fun meet up and hang out. I'm a former fashion designer/current personal trainer and fitness instructor balancing my two passions (fitness and fashion) and diligently working to bring out the best in myself and others. 

After barely fitting into an airplane seat for a long international flight, I knew that I had to do something different or else things were only going to get worse physically.  I was already taking a spinning class with Dana and I reached out to her for help. I am so, so glad that I did.  Before I began with McPherson fit, I weighed 244 pounds and had a body percentage fat of 44 percent.   As I type this almost two years later, I’m down 60 pounds, have lost massive inches and I now have a body fat percentage of 27 percent.  This could not have happened without the support, guidance and training provided by Dana McPherson.

 

From the very start, Dana has been encouraging, professional, patient, attentive and focused on helping me achieve my goals.  At the initial meeting, we discussed goals, nutrition and did a basic fitness assessment. I walked out feeling hopeful and confident that I could lose the weight and become fit.  She checked in with me the next day and I knew I had made the right decision to begin working with her.

 

We started out with twice a week sessions and I absolutely fell in love with fitness and being healthy.  The weight was slowly coming off and I was becoming a healthier and more confident person.  I had hidden for so long behind the layers of fat that I really had no clue what my body could do and who I was. Little did I know that I’d soon fall in love with buying more and more cross training shoes! Dana’s athletic shoe collection is absolutely amazing. I started with one old pair of running shoes and now have more shoes than I can count. This part of the program is completely optional but I’ve seen it happen with more than just one client. J

 

Soon I began training with Dana three times a week. Each session is individualized to my specific needs and athletic goals. The sessions are extremely well organized and each movement is both explained and demonstrated so there is correct form which in turn prevents injury. Dana is not the type of trainer who walks away while you’re exercising and she is always watching for correct form. During your session, she is completely focused on helping you get the most out of your workout.  The workouts are always varied and I’ve never done the same program twice. Each workout is a challenge and I always walk out drenched in sweat and filled with satisfaction that I’m working hard towards being the healthiest person I can be.

 

Dana also helped me overhaul my nutrition and provides guidance on healthy eating. This has really accelerated my weight loss and compliments the hard work I’m doing in the gym.  As a result, I’m getting closer and closer to reaching my goals.

 

While working with Dana, I’ve been encouraged to try different things including mud runs and obstacle course races. Each of these events helps track my progress and set further goals. Dana is always looking to help take me to the next level and provides the necessary training and guidance to get me there. With each goal I’ve met, I’m further encouraged to try something else and I know that Dana will provide the tools, the guidance and the support to achieve anything I set my mind on.  For this year’s anniversary and to celebrate my birthday, I’m planning on running my first ever 10k.  Guess who’s going to be running with me; who else but McPherson fit!

 

  I’ve come a long way from not fitting into the airplane seat with Dana’s help. You deserve to be in the best shape possible and Dana can help get you there!

For over a year I was "going to start" working out, and finally I bit the bullet when a friend recommended McPherson Fit  From day one, she completely motivated me to push through, and now we work twice a week on strength and endurance, and I can't even tell you how excited I am about how good I feel, and how strong I feel.  

She's totally motivated me to work out on my own on the days we aren't training, and she has helped me shift my nutrition, and just become better aware of what makes me feel good and what doesn't.  I really feel overall a major shift and her workouts are a huge part of why I am feeling stronger and healthier than I have in years! My friends have all noticed how much more energy I have and I know it's these training sessions making all the difference!

If you want to work out but need some help, or if you already work out and want someone who knows how to focus on certain "areas" =) to really get you in the shape you want to be, call her!  She's an excellent trainer, and a super sweet person on top of that!

Dana is totally in tune with what you're doing and how you're doing it when it comes to working out. We set goals, then she kicks my butt. She does a great job of making sure I keep proper form to prevent injuries and still manages to work around any past ones. She's skilled in all kinds of fitness so she can find something that works with your personality/tastes too.

I love that she switches up the exercises so they stay challenging and fun. You know you're working out but you don't feel like it's monotonous. I had never used many of the things she had me on but she's very good at educating and keeping things fresh.

Trust me, she will work you out! Those ropes are a killer. I hate 'em but I love 'em.
